Hurricane Prep Time

We are preparing for Hurricane Dorian.  This will be the first hurricane of this season to directly affect Florida and this time it is hitting the east coast of Florida.  It is still 5 days out but we are preparing just the same.  It prediction right now is that the eye will hit around Melbourne, FL but it could shift north and come to us.  After the destruction of Hurricane Irma two years ago people around here are taking this threat seriously.  I went to Walmart last night around 8:00 pm.  The gas pumps were filled with cars getting gas, I did too, but the store was surprising.  The bread aisle was empty; just buns and tortillas.  There was not a water bottle or jug to be found anywhere.  The canned goods were gone.  I managed to get a few soups and some crackers but that was about it.  The good thing is my daughter Jenny took care of the hurricane supplies early.  So now we wait and see what happens!

It's That Time Again...FOOTBALL SEASON!

Football Season has begun for College and the NFL is playing their last pre season games this week.  It is time to get excited about Football.  It is a game that I actually do enjoy watching especially when my Chicago Bears are playing!
This year, I am following fewer teams.  For College I will be following Northern Arizona University (NAU Lumberjacks), University of Michigan (Wolverines) and Northern Illinois University (NIU Huckies).  For the NFL I will be following three teams:  THE CHICAGO BEARS, the LA Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars.  So, keep checking back and see how my teams are doing.  I am, of course, hoping a trip to the Super Bowl for Da Bears!
WooHoo...Football is back!

Life Goes On

It has been two weeks since Tim’s memorial service and like with everything; life goes on and it has. Thank you for all the love and prayers from everyone who has reached out to me.  All are very much appreciated.  Since Tim’s death our 36 Anniversary was last Tuesday and it was a bittersweet day.  I am still in the middle of clearing up everything with Tim’s estate; there isn’t one but people need to be contacted and that is what I have been working on.  I do have to say some people you have to deal with are not very understanding.  I just hope if they ever have to deal with death they get treated better than I have.  With that said, it is coming together and soon everything will be taken care of.  A lot has happened in these past two weeks but the biggest thing is Rory started Kindergarten.  She has gone for three days and so far she likes it. Today I got to take her to school so I now know the routine.  This blog, beginning today, will be more about Rory’s and my adventures.  It is time to get some happiness back in our lives.  Thanks for hearing (reading) my rant.  Have a good week end!

Rest In Peace Tim

Yesterday my husband Tim was layed to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.  Tim was retired Navy where he served 20 years so he was honored with full military benefits that included an honor guard, rifle salute, a bugler playing taps and the flag folded and presented to me.  It was a very humbly time and even though Tim may not have wanted it he deserved it for serving his country.  I want to thank all those that attended his service and reception.  It meant the world to me and my family.  I would also like to thank Orange Park United Methodists church and staff for the beautiful reception.  It is very humbly to see the love and support by all.  Tim would have appreciated it too.  Rest In Peace Tim, you will be missed. ❤️
