Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.  I hope you were able to enjoy it with your family or friends.  We had a nice Thanksgiving with family today and all I had to do is make a couple of sides.  Tomorrow, however, I will be cooking up as we will be celebrating Friendsgiving.  I have a 22 pound turkey to make along with all the sides.  I don't really mind since it is my favorite holiday meal to make.  We will be having Ham too!  The ham is a new tradition for me as we never had it but my son-in-law always did so we are adding to our Thanksgiving tradition.  I am also breaking with another tradition as I will not be making my homemade pumpkin pies this year.  The one who truly enjoyed them is gone and no one else likes it but me so instead of pies Rory and I will be making chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies.  They are not for dessert; just to have.  Happy Thanksgiving!

What A Difference Two Weeks Can Make!

So the last time I made a post I was starting my vacation flying to California for two weeks and it was on election day.  My, my what a difference two weeks can make.  I am not going to talk about the election since it is still not finalized.  I will say I enjoyed my vacation so much that I was able to block out the election and its details and just enjoyed my vacation.  I did not miss working or being at home because I was ready to take a break especially with all the COVID stuff.  I saw family and friends, enjoyed some art classes and just relaxed with no commitments to anyone.  Thank you to my sister and brother in law for hosting me for two weeks.  I met my sister's new dogs; Zoey, a Lab mix rescue and Brodi a Bernese Mountain dog puppy.  Zoey is a little standoffish but Brodi is full of love.  Brodi is going to get big.  On my flight home yesterday I once again enjoyed a comfortable flight with social distancing...the only good thing that came from COVID.  This morning I had to take a rapid COVID test and I was negative! YAY!!!  So now, I am back at work, COVID free and back home with my family who actually missed me while I was gone.

Flying Is So Different

I am on my way to California and it is Election Day.  I voted early because I knew I would be traveling on Election Day.  I have to say that things have changed a great deal with flying.  I am flying Delta and they are still not seating people in the middle seats.  I am flying business class, thanks to my sister, and it is really nice not to be crammed into the airplane.  I have room to stretch my legs and when the person in front of me reclines their seat I still have room.  What is weird is there are no drinks or food served on the plane.  Just a snack pack given to you that consists of a small bottle of water, a small bag of cheez-its and a cookie.  Then you are left alone.  I am not complaining it just isn’t what it use to be.  What is even weirder are the vendors at the airport.  Several are closed up and the food vendors are half or less then what it use to be.  It was tough getting something to eat at the airport.  I had to settle for a Turkey sandwich.  Oh well, at least I got something to eat.  People are being good about keeping their distance and I have never seen a plane disembark where you were basically are told when you could get up to leave and people were listening. Delta is doing it right!  Thanks Delta!  I have a couple more hours to go before I get to my destination.  Have a good night and I am praying that my candidate wins.  Go USA!

A Busy Halloween

We had a fun Halloween but it was a busy one.  It started with Rory's soccer game then we went out to lunch and did some shopping at Target.  When we got home we got the costumes ready for trick or treating and  Rory was excited.  Rory was going to her friend's neighborhood to get some candy.  I stayed home to pass out candy for the neighborhood.  While I waiting for trick or treating I decided to make my pumpkin seeds and they are delicious!  I also finished up some card samples that I am bringing to California.  Oh yeah, I leave on vacation in two days and I am going to California for two weeks! We had a smaller crowd for trick or treating this year, which we expected, although our sub division was suppose to go all out.  I sat in our driveway and passed out the candy.   It was a good day and a fun night!  Happy November!
