It Has Been Awhile

I have been busy with just everyday life but nothing too interesting to write about so I am going to post when I actually do something. I have things planned over the next few weeks so check back!  Until then, I hope you have great days ahead and I will post soon!

Lunch With An Old Friend

I had lunch with an old friend yesterday.  We worked together at Toys R Us at three stores together starting when I was a young manager at my second store as manager and ending together about 10 years later at my fourth store as manager. Toys R Us like to move their managers around a lot.  We met half way from where we both live and had a nice long lunch catching up with each other’s lives and talking about our days together at Toys R Us.  Thanks Connie, it was fun!

Not Much To Report On

I took a couple of days off because there is not that much to report on just everyday stuff.  I mean Tuesday Jenny was a superhero to Rory because Carrie broke down and Jenny went to her rescue.  Very grateful my girls take care of each other. Wednesday was just a quiet day both at work and at home.  I did stop in at Michaels to get some Christmas clearance items for a project for next Christmas.  The quantity I have to buy is making me appreciate the 80% clearance sale at Michaels on Christmas.  So, I may go back for more today because Jenny also loved the idea.  Sorry but you will have to wait a few months to see what I am planning on doing!  Tonight is my choir Christmas party.  It is too crazy to celebrate during Christmas so we wait and do it afterwards.  Still a lot of fun!

Catching Up

I am in a card club where we exchange cards every month.  There are 14 members and a theme each month.  Basically I make 14 of the same themed card and send them to the other members and in return I get 13 different same themed cards.  I have been doing this for about 20 years or more.  Well, I got a little behind over the holidays but managed to catch up this past week end and made three sets of cards.  The themes were Masculine, Holiday and Your choice.

Fun With Rory!

The past couple of days have been all about Rory and we have had some fun together.  On Friday we started our day playing in my room, jumping on the bed, and just having fun.  Mommy went to play tennis so Rory and I had our weekly “donut date” at Dunkin’ Donuts and then went over to A.C. Moore and bought her some crafts to do and we found some doll house furniture for her new dollhouse.  We will have to sand it and paint it but it will be fun.  We then decided to go surprise mommy at tennis then play at the park.  When mommy was done with tennis we went to lunch, shopped some more then we all had ice cream. It was a fun girls day together.

Classic Nintendo Mini

When Nintendo came out with their first game console it was an expense for us but well worth it and we enjoyed it for years and missed it when it broke.   Well, Carrie had gotten the mini version for Daniel and once I saw it had Dr. Mario on it I wanted one too!  Well, Jenny saw my reaction and gave me a belated Christmas present.  Thanks Jennyand Nate!  Now we are having fun playing Dr Mario.  My only regret is that it does not have Tetris. Having fun from the 90’s!

First Man

Have you seen the movie “First Man”?  I know it did not receive good reviews and so it did not do well in the theaters but I never pay attention to the reviews because I do not agree with a lot of them.  If the movie preview looks good and sparks my interest then I go see it.  We watched “First Man” New Year’s Day and I am glad I did. It is about Neil Armstrong and events leading up to landing on the moon.  Give it a try!

A Quiet New Year’s Day

It was a quiet New Year’s Day with some parade watching, football watching, movie watching and just hanging around together. We did have a second countdown celebration when Mommy & Daddy got home from their New Year’s Eve celebration.  It was a good way to start the new year...stress free!

Welcome 2019

Happy New Year!  Let’s hope it is a good year for all!  2018 had so many changes for me that I am hoping 2019 will be a year of good things and hopefully a successful year.  Life happens and God has a plan.  Happy New Year!
